Veridian Software - accessibility and responsiveness

Veridian software is constantly evolving so our users can enjoy the very best in functionality and appearance.

In the past decade Veridian has become dramatically faster and more scalable to handle large collections. We’ve introduced many new features including access rules, crowdsourced text correction, comments, tags, and more.

Veridian is regularly updated to support changes in web browser technology, and is fully compliant with HTML5.

Here are some of the Veridian User Interface (UI) elements we’ve redesigned and updated recently.

Modern and clean design

Everyone wants their web content to look great and to display in a way that is simple to navigate and easy to read. Our UI has a modern and clean design that allows the content to shine.

Excellent web accessibility

We’ve done a lot of work with the American Foundation for the Blind, and learned a lot about practical web accessibility. Veridian has always complied with core web accessibility guidelines, but we’ve taken it to the next level with our UI, by applying the lessons learned while working with the AFB.

Positive user experience

Some audiences have been using Veridian systems for many years. We’ve listened to the feedback received to ensure our UI works well, and that people find it easy to learn and to navigate.

Responsive design for small screen devices

Internet usage from small screen devices like mobile phones and tablets now surpasses that of desktop and notebook computers. Internet browsing habits have also changed dramatically, with many users accessing the same content from more than one device. For example, people often discover websites on their mobile, then switch to a tablet or computer to explore that content in more detail.

Google and other web search engines try to detect websites that display well on mobile devices. They then boost those sites in the search results of people using mobile devices. The end result is that if a website doesn’t display well on an iPhone those users searching Google on their phone probably won’t discover that website!

The Veridian UI is designed from the ground up to be as usable as possible on small screens, without losing any functionality for large screens.
